- Two meta-analyses of numerous controlled clinical trials concluded that oral chondroitin sulfate helps maintain long-term, comfortable function of joint structures (JAMA 2000;283:1469-75, J Rheumatol 2000;27:205-11).
- Chondroprotective effects of oral chondroitin sulfate have also been demonstrated in clinical studies (Osteoarthritis Cartilage 1998;6(Suppl A):37-46, Curr Ther Res 1992;52:608-38).
